InTEGRAtion: The Next Step for QuarkVR and Magic Leap

What do QuarkVR and Magic Leap have in common? They both work on the bleeding edge of Immersive Computing, for one thing. Furthermore, they’re integrating the NVIDIA Tegra as a core component of their upcoming products!

Yesterday Magic Leap had a Twitch live stream announcing that their first hardware will ship this summer. In the dev talk several Magic Leap employees gave details about the specs for the augmented reality headset. The device’s ‘brain’ will be an Nvidia Tegra X2 system.

So we got excited and couldn’t hold the good news in anymore: QuarkVR is about to run on the Tegra X2 too! This allows for an multiplatform version of our software and opens brand new horizons for both our Enterprise use cases and potential end-user benefits.

The NVIDIA® Jetson™ TX2

So far QuarkVR runs on Windows with an Intel processor on the client side. This version of ours is up and running at Orange Silicon Valley’s office. What we’re working on right now is Tegra support which will bring our tech to Linux and Android.

We believe the Tegra will be key to the future of Immersive Computing and NVIDIA is supporting our statement with the announcement of the even more advanced version of Tegra, code-named Xavier. Xavier will have support for 4K resolutions and WiGig. Furthermore, it will enable us to improve our streaming tech by utilizing AI thanks to its 512-core Volta GPU with Tensor Cores!

We’re passionately following Magic Leap’s progress and are excited to share a common field of technology. What is your opinion on Magic Leap’s announcements and how would you like to get your hands on a headset of theirs?
